What do you want to do to make a greenhouse?


Curriculum Goal: The students will learn about different techniques to make greenhouse. The aim of this task is to acknowledge students the importance to know different procedures of making greenhouse.

Task: Create a PowerPoint Presentation that displays the different ways that you would like to choose when you make a greenhouse

Process: In Class
1)On Monday October 29, 2007, all students should come to class with all materials they need to make greenhouses.

2)Each student will also bring a picture and description, printed from the internet, of the greenhouse they want to make.

3) Students will be separated into three groups.

4) Each group will choose two photographers. The first photographer will take pictures of the second group and the second photographer will take a picture of the first group.

5) Each group should bring their camera to me and I will take a picture of the entire group.

6) The remaining two students will be responsible for attaching the camera to the computer and opening the pictures.

7) I would like to see how the pictures look before they have been printed.

8) With my consent, print all five pictures.

Outside of Class
· Each group will paste the printed pictures, along with the pictures you brought to class, copy and paste them to a PowerPoint presentation.
· Before continuing, I would like to meet with each group to discuss whether or not the projects will be done using Powerpoint or a scrapbook, and to find out if everyone understands the task as well as the process.
· The images that you brought to class ( the one’s you printed on the internet) should be placed beside the picture you took in class.
· In the last slide of the powerpoint presentation, students should paste the group picture that I took in the class.
· Under each picture write something about the techniques that each student chose.
· The final product is due on November 7, 2007.
· On this day each student will come to class with the model of their greenhouse and will be expected to present their project to the class.
· In each group presentation, students should tell me what are the benefits of their greenhouses.

Evaluation:
Each group will be graded on the following:
· Participation cooperation – 30%
· Creativity of PowerPoint presentation - 45%
· Group presentation-25%

Conclusion:
I want each student to gain more information about greenhouse using internet and to realize that all kinds of greenhouses have contribution to grow more plants in winter time. This lesson will also prepare us to search different websites. You will have opportunity to work with your friends and learn from each other.
